Medieval Dance & Costume Ball
Step back in time for an evening of lively medieval dancing! Learn 2–4 fun and accessible historical dances, with examples including Horse’s Bransle (Horse’s Brawl), Jenny Plucked Pears, Hole in the Wall, and simple group dances such as Schiarazula Marazula (Maltese Bransle), Petit Vriens, and Montarde Bransle. Then put your new moves to use during a festive costume ball! Costumes are encouraged (not required), and no previous dance experience or partner is required. Enjoy some light refreshments, meet new people, and spend the evening dancing, laughing, and celebrating together.
Instructor Bio
Sarah Swann has loved partner dancing since her teenage years, competing on a college ballroom dance team and continuing through years of college courses, community groups, and self-directed learning across a variety of styles. She has taught casual dance classes and is excited to share the fun and community that social dancing brings.
A Taste of the Past: The instructor will be serving her family’s favorite non-alcoholic wassail recipe—a warm, spiced drink perfect for a Medieval Dance!
