Lens & Lines: Creative Capture in Nature

Date:  Thursday, May 14
Location:  Ponderosa State Park-Meeting parking lot TBD
Instructor:  David Gallipoli

As the snow melts and Ponderosa State Park comes back to life, join us for a creative adventure that blends photography, writing, and the joy of exploring the world around you. We’ll take an easy hike to a scenic spot and look beyond the obvious—challenging ourselves to capture images that feel fresh, personal, and unexpected. After photographing the moment, we’ll shift into the storytelling side, crafting a short written piece inspired by your image. Whether you’re new to photography, new to writing, or simply curious about seeing nature in a new way, this class will help you stretch your creative muscles and walk away with a pair of connected works: one visual, one written, both uniquely yours.

David Gallipoli is a photographer and writer whose work explores the quiet intersections of wild places and human experience. Through his creative project, Gone Fishin’ Stories, David pairs images with reflective storytelling to capture moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. With a background in both visual arts and narrative craft, he brings an inviting, approachable teaching style that encourages participants to slow down, look closely, and create with intention. David is passionate about helping others find their voice—on the page and behind the lens.  https://www.gonefishinstories.com/
