Idaho is known for its outstanding fly fishing, and the McCall region offers plenty of opportunities to explore the sport. There is great satisfaction in catching a fish on a fly that you tied yourself. Designed for the novice fly-tyer, this four-week class will introduce equipment, materials, and types of flies. Participants will learn to tie fly

patterns proven to be effective in Idaho’s waters. Discussion of basic entomology, reading the water, and how to get the hook out of your ear will be included. Class includes a fly-tying vise, hackle, pliers, scissors, bobbin, hair stacker, Uni-Thread, materials to tie six different flies, and Dennis’s favorite current book.

Dennis Coyle has been fly fishing for over 40 years and an avid fly tier.
