A Traditional Sunday in Argentina with Carolina Duran Date: February 2nd Time: 1-4 PM Location: Duran Residence McCall (address will be emailed to participants)
Experience a true Argentine Sunday with me, just like the ones that shaped my family’s traditions.
Every Sunday, our family would gather at 12:30 for a meal that started with a vermouth and cheese spread, a taste of what was to come. We’d begin with a fresh salad, followed by ravioli made from scratch, served with *stufato*—meat slowly simmered in rich tomato sauce. The meal would wrap up with dessert, coffee, and cake, bringing everyone together around the table.
During this three-hour experience, you’ll get hands-on in the kitchen, learning to make Argentina’s iconic empanadas from scratch and exploring the art behind each dish.
As we enjoy five courses, paired with Malbec and Tempranillo, you’ll be immersed in the flavors and traditions that define Argentine Sundays. Join me for an unforgettable culinary journey!
“Hi, I’m Carolina! I’m thrilled to share my Argentine roots and family traditions with those eager for an authentic experience. Raised on Sunday feasts inspired by my Italian grandmothers, I learned early on that food is more than a meal—it’s a way to connect. Now living in McCall with my husband, and with our two kids off to college, I’m excited to welcome others into my kitchen to recreate the tastes and memories of my childhood Sundays. Join me for an afternoon of crafting and savoring authentic Argentine dishes, and discover the joy of this time-honored tradition.” -Carolina Duran
