February 2, 2023 6:30 pm - February 23, 2023 8:30 pm Payette Lakes Middle School Art Room

Idaho is known for its outstanding fly fishing, and the McCall region offers plenty of opportunities to explore the sport. There is great satisfaction in catching a fish on a fly that you tied yourself. Designed for the novice fly-tyer, this four-week class will introduce equipment, materials, and types of flies. Participants will learn to tie fly patterns proven to be effective in Idaho’s waters. Discussion of basic entomology, reading the water, and how to get the hook out of your ear will be included.

Because of very generous donations to the Reed Gillespie Chapter of Trout Unlimited this class is being offered free of charge. All tools and materials will be provided. Members of the Reed Gillespie chapter of Trout Unlimited will be teaching the adult beginner and youth beginner classes.  Youth course to be added later in the season.

The adult beginner course takes place on Thursdays, starting February 2nd and ending on the 23rd. Each class will take place from 6:30-8:30pm.
