Idaho is known for its outstanding fly fishing, and the McCall region offers plenty of opportunities to explore the sport. There is great satisfaction in catching a fish on a fly that you tied yourself. Designed for the novice fly-tyer, this four-week class will introduce equipment, materials, and types of flies. Participants will learn to tie fly patterns that have proven to be effective in Idaho’s waters. Discussion of basic entomology, reading the water, and how to get the hook out of your ear will be included. The cost of the class includes a fly-tying vise, hackle, pliers, scissors, bobbin, hair stacker, 6/0 Uni-Thread and all materials needed to tie six different flies.
The class will be taught by Dennis Coyle with special guest appearances by local fly-tyers. Registration Required
