This class is a modern take on Shibori, the ancient art of Japanese tie dye.  Instructor Lonna Alexander-Steele will guide students through modernly-adapted techniques to the production of two uniquely beautiful scarves. The class fee includes two silk scarves, the use of all equipment, dyes, and other materials. Some very basic hand sewing experience is necessary. Students will need to bring an apron or wear old clothes, and bring gloves, note taking materials, and a plastic bag to transport any damp silks. No experience necessary. Instructor Lonna Alexander-Steele is a well-known fiber artist who travels, writes, presents, and teaches widely. She has written for several fiber arts magazines and has taught at numerous fiber arts festivals throughout the U.S.  $80  Registration Required
