Apply the principles of photojournalism to your own life! In this class, led by photographer Pam Benham, students will explore stories - those of themselves, friends, families, community members. Everyone has a story.
This class will cover portrait and journalistic photography. It will incorporate simple lighting techniques, visual storytelling, and portraiture. Students will also learn how to utilize the Adobe Creative Suites to create templates and layouts for photographs and content. Each week students will plan multiple interviews and photo shoots with the people in their lives they find most interesting. Students will practice gathering words and images and then using them to tell an effective story. Classes will also involve editing, critiques, and working with Photo Shop. The goal will be to provide students with the skills needed to create a digital book, exhibition, or presentation. Instructor Pam Benham works as a location photographer throughout the West for a wide array of corporate, editorial, and advertising accounts.
